Our presets represent the most direct expression of our passion for film. The statement they create is almost as soft as brush strokes in Caravaggio’s paintings illuminated by Vermeer himself. Minimalistic and simple yet rich in meaning, they will elevate photos taken in any environment.

HOW TO USE LIT BY FILM
Our main approach is to keep the look very soft, cinematic and consistent throughout the whole story/wedding/session. We always use only one black and white and one color preset. We apply them first and then we set the White Balance and exposure of each photo or scene.
Each color adjustment preset is designed to make the process of setting the correct skin tone easier. We aim to keep it warm while still controlling the magenta tone as our cameras tend to apply.
It’s just our personal taste, every camera or lens is different and we highly encourage you to experiment with the white balance and hue of each color of the palette.
