The Archetype Process started in the Summer of 2009 with the attempt to emulate film. Within about a year, I knew for the most part the way that it needed to be done, but the tools weren’t available…so I had to wait. Instead of waiting, I decided to learn as much as I could so that when the time came, I was ready. In April 2018, the wait was over…the day I was able to, I created over 20 profiles that I had worked on over the years and as they say, “the rest was history.”

The Archetype Process profiles are scientifically based off of the way a Frontier or Noritsu scanner interprets the film that is being scanned. Technically it means, I am interpreting the way a machine interprets the way a film is interpreting reality…kinda crazy huh?

Our main goal with The Archetype Process is to empower photographers with great film looks and to preserve those looks for the future.

I am more like the emotional type of person. I’m honest, decide with gut instinct, believe in karma and I’m very curious abou new things. When I’m not hiding behind my camera, I’m out there, enjoying nature, travel foreign countries with my hubby and make adventures. My biggest passion besides photography are dogs. 🙂 I’m a real dog freak and in 2014 we adopted our spanish straydog Emmi. Together with my husband and her I live in our dream house in Bonn close to the Rhine.

Ever since we met in Zanzibar (2012), we both had this incredibly strong connection to one another. A harmonious one. This very connection that helps us work so well together on weddings, and has given us a life of travel, adventure & good wine. We’ve spent a year living in Finland, we’ve travelled to almost all the continents and we are parents to not only an amazing little boy, but to our first child (the doggo) Gaia. 

We always enjoy a good laugh, a few glasses of vino and a campfire under the stars and could sit and talk for ages about life, movies, travel & adventures.

Melli is all about experiences; whether that’s traveling to exotic new places or exploring cuisine. Coming from a small German town, the world quickly became her playground as her desire for travel grew with each year she aged.  Her life has brought her around the world, and most notably a good few years in Finland. Melli always had an eye for photography and over time it became a deep passion of hers.

Melli is an incredibly kind, warm-hearted and wonderful-to-be-around person that not only will make sure that everything is under control but will keep smiles on people’s faces while that happens.

Born in South Africa and raised in Mauritius island, it’s no secret that Shayne is all about the ocean, the chilled vibes and the good times. He spent 3 years in Zanzibar where he worked as a few things (hostel manager, wakeboarding instructor, PADI divemaster to name a few…) all while improving & passionately growing his photography & filmmaking skills.

Shayne also makes it no secret that he is, in fact, a geek. He loves all things tech, computers & video games and will easily spend the night talking about aviation if that happens to be up your street too.

Hello, my name is Chelsea Yamase aka @chelseakauai.

I’m a Hawaii-based creative and deeply curious human here practicing courage. I come from a small island in the Pacific and I’m still not quite sure how I got to live a life bigger than I ever dreamed of. For the last 3 years I’ve been hiking, diving, surfing, slacklining, and photographing my way through 53 countries and counting. I’m proud to be supported by some of my favorite brands like Canon USA, Adobe, and give preference to creating content for companies doing good.

Self-improvement, outdoor adventure, and creativity make me SUPER excited and I get to share some of my journey exploring all three both on here and on my instagram.
